TV channel suspends Jub Jub

Television channel MojaLove has suspended presenter Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye following numerous allegations that saw him trending on social media platforms on Thursday.

In a statement released by MojaLove at midnight on Thursday, the channel said it took the allegations levelled against the Uyajola 99 host seriously.

“Jub Jub conducted an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, which aired on Channel O yesterday [Thursday], in his personal capacity. MojaLove was not part of the editorial of that interview and is not associated with the content thereof,” the statement read. The statement said: As a channel though, we don’t condone any gender-based violence in any way and under any circumstances. As MojaLove, we have decided to suspend Jub Jub.

This is after the Uyajola 9/9 host made explosive claims in an interview that went viral this week as a guest on YouTube channel Podcast and Chill with MacG which was aired on Channel O on Wednesday.

In the viral interview, Maarohanye talked about his relationships with his former lovers with MacG – real name Macgyver Mukwevho.

He used derogatory terms and made startling claims about their intimate encounters. He also claimed songstress Kelly Khumalo lured him away from popular presenter and actress Amanda Du-Pont, revealing unflattering details about their relationships.

An upset Du-Pont took to her social media on Thursday, levelling serious allegations against Maarohanye that set Twitter ablaze as she invited more women to also share their experiences. This led to

media personality and government spokesperson Masechaba Khumalo, former MojaLove employee Refilwe Kumalo and songwriter Bonokuhle Nkala also sharing their stories of allege abused by Maarohanye.

Du-Pont also made a public call for support on a legal case she aims to mount against the Ndikhokhele singer.

“Any attorney that can help me with a cease and desist letter or help with dealing with this man legally, please reach out. So that he can keep my name out his mouth. Not because I can’t afford it but because I want to make this a public fight. The fight is bigger than me,” she added.

Maarohanye has not yet responded to the accusations levelled against him.
