Former home affairs minister Malusi Gigaba’s ex-wife, Norma Mngoma, has allegedly found love in the arms of business person Thabang Sibiya.
Sources close to the new couple revealed that they have only been dating for a few months, but they are serious about one another.
A close friend of the couple explained that Sibiya is a social person who is known for his flashy lifestyle and charismatic personality, but that he has been keeping a low profile recently due to his relationship with Mngoma.Thabang Sibiya
“Everyone in Sandton knows who Thabang is – he is that tenderpreneur who drives a Bentley and fills up the tables. So when he came out with Norma to Rockets nightclub in Bryanston a few weeks ago, we thought they would be going public about their relationship,” the source said. There was an incident with one of Thabang’s former female friends, Karabo Mohlala, at Rockets on the same day that they went out together. The friend came to Norma and made remarks about her and Thabang. The two women almost clashed, but were separated.

“The next day, Norma called a meeting with Thabang and his friends, where she asked that they tell him to stop having female friends since they were now dating, and that with one mistake, they could end up trending [on social media] for the wrong reasons,” the friend added.slide 1 of 1Businessman Thabang Sibiya is set to have captured Norma Mngoma’s heart.
Mngoma and Gigaba made headlines in 2020 shortly before they filed for divorce after six years of marriage. Intimate details of their marriage were laid bare when Mngoma testified at the Zondo commission last year.
It now appears that Mngoma has put her marriage problems behind her. She was one of many famous faces who took to social media to share their Valentine’s Day spoils on Monday. Mngoma’s Instagram page displayed a huge box of red roses captioned with hearts and roses.I don’t even know Thabang that much. Thabang and I don’t even talk.Norma Mngoma
However, when City Press called her for comment on Friday, the businessperson and owner of Suitably Norma (which makes tailored business suits) denied any friendship or relationship with Sibiya.
“I don’t even know Thabang that much. Thabang and I don’t even talk,” Mngoma said.
She also denied that she was confronted by Mohlala at Rockets on the day that she allegedly went there with Sibiya.
She said that she went out with two male friends and no woman approached them aside from media personality Pearl Thusi, who came to greet her.
“I did not have an altercation with anybody. It was not even my party. I was sitting with my friends as we had booked a whole table there. No one came to our table except for Pearl Thusi, who was there because she was working.
“I don’t even know who Karabo is. When I got to the VIP section, it was me, my friend and another friend of ours … I don’t even drink, so I don’t party. It was Pearl who was there and [actress and DJ] Thuli Phongolo who was also there because she was playing.”I am not dating Norma. I only saw her once at a party. Mohlala, who is also a social media influencer, denied that she was at the nightclub on the day in question and told City Press that she had never dated Sibiya.
Sibiya also denied that he was dating Mngoma, and said he met her at Rockets nightclub on the day: “I am not dating Norma. I only saw her once at a party. She was sitting at the table next to mine. I was with my Congolese friends.”
He also denied that Mohlala approached Mngoma at Rockets.
